Now, other forums have said it works using the eSATA connection. Seeing that none of my other tries have worked, I'm not sure if spending some cash to see will be worthwhile. What I have tried: The box has two Firewire connections into which I've tried plugging in a drive. Um, do modern TVs have Firewire ports, mine don't. The box also has a USB port on the front which I've tried. Still got notta.

I'm seeing eSata output.. So before you go out and purchase anything you may want to just try and borrow one from someone Did an online chat with Suddenlink James: Any detailed reason why I would not be able to expand the hard drive space? There's hardly any recording space for HDTV I have that same box, and I also have an eSATA external drive, but I haven't hooked them up because the manual kind of makes it sound like it will attempt to format the drive, and I have a lot of important stuff on there.

You should probably continue to check with them about the possibility of expansion. They may have disabled it. I'm with Time Warner by the way. Pricey but very nice and quiet. I got a cheap one before this, and the fan died in 6 months.

You want one with an eSATA output. They sold it for a couple of months and then discontinued it. I asked a tech and he told me the external drive was causing problem with the signal and that people using it had more mosaic image corruption. I see..

I still am contacting them almost daily as I need more space!! That's fine however I don't have a first clue on how to do that..

This signal is standard definition but higher quality than other SDTV connections. HDMI supports both digital audio and video. May be used to connect to a DVI interface using an adaptor for video and separate audio connections. Obtain the multi-stream card from your cable service provider. Check with your cable service provider for a list of approved hard drive models for use with the HDC. These connectors might not be available on all HDC models. I have this in PDF if that helps.
